Location Scouting without leaving home

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

I was reading an article in the latest Surfing Magazine about a contest that’s held where people use Google Earth to find the best undiscovered places on earth to surf. This led to me thinking about how amazing Google Earth would be to scout locations for photo shoots.

So I uploaded a quick video of how to use Google Earth in such a way. If anyone has any further suggestions or knows of other features that would be helpful, please post them in the comments.

New Interview for F-Stop Beyond

f-stop

I just did an interview for F-Stop Beyond. It’s one of my favorite ones that’s been done of me. I say this because Ron Dawson of FSB asked some great questions that weren’t the typical how-to and gear talk. It’s definitely the most personal of any I’ve given before.

Nashville Photo CommUNITY Party

Monday, August 10th, 2009

I believe the photo community is strongest when we all know each other. So with that in mind, I’m throwing a party at my studio on August 28th. Any and all part-time or full-time professional photographer living in the Nashville area regardless of skill level or type of photography are invited. Let’s all meet, hang out and get down.

Details are HERE.

The attendee list seen on this page are only those who were invited via Facebook. If you plan on coming PLEASE RSVP by posting so on the wall. We need an accurate ballpark idea of how many are coming.

I highly encourage other cities to do the same.

Facebook Page Finally

facebook

I’ve had a personal Facebook page for quite awhile, but I’ve finally launched one for my photography. I’ll use it to make announcements, ask questions, etc. I will also put up some images that don’t get to make it on my web site.

Check it out and add it to your list of Facebook pages.

Thanx!

Relient K Photo Shoot: Behind the Scenes

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

Here’s a little behind the scenes video I put together of a shoot I did for Relient K 2 weeks ago. They’re a great bunch of guys, we had a lot of fun and I got some great images of them.

Yamaha photo shoot with Mark Rivera and Carl Fischer

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

There are fun people to shoot and then there are really fun people to shoot. Mark Rivera and Carl Fischer were hillarious, great guys who were a blast to not only shoot but hang out with for the afternoon.

I did the shoot just hours before they hit the stage with Billy Joel and Elton John.

Enjoy some behind the scenes shots as well as the interview.
